Opening reception rescheduled at CAC
The opening reception for New Year New Art at the Community Arts Center has been rescheduled for 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19. Refreshments will be available, plus a beer and wine cash bar, and many of the artists exhibited in NYNA will be on-hand to discuss their art. The event is being moved due to the forecasted wintry mix expected to hit the area Friday evening.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day event
First Baptist Church Second and Walnut Streets will be celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15. The speaker will be Robert P. Trumbo on the topic, The Legacy Still Lives On.” Also Krystal Burdett will perform a praise dance. Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be no march due to predicted cold weather.
Holiday closings for MLK Day on Monday
The Boyle County Courthouse, all Convenience Centers, Recycling Center and the Animal Shelter will be closed Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Day.
