Robert “Boogie” Coleman, 74, of McKinney, died Friday, January 26, 2018 at his home.

He was born June 23, 1943 in McKinney, KY to the late Otis and Alberta Coffey Coleman. Boggie was a member of the McKinney Christian Church. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Padgett Coleman of McKinney; two sons, Todd Coleman of Nashville, Tenn., and Troy Coleman of Louisville; a step-daughter, Renee Roberts of McKinney; a brother, Clyde Coleman of Richmond; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a special grandson, Joe Brown; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by one son, Timmy Coleman; two step-children, Donna Douglas and Jeff Douglas; one brother, Ralph Coleman; two sisters, Mary Lois Dunn and Dorothy Shandley. 

Visitation was Monday, January 29, 2018 from 5-9 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral will be 11 a.m.  today (Tuesday, January 30) at Spurlin Funeral Home Stanford with Reverend Vola Brown officiating. Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery. 

Casket bearers will be Josh Gerkey, Todd Coleman, James Rogers, Billy Jack Hazlett, David Wilmot, Christopher Hazlett, Shane Padgett, and Bobby Littrell. Honorary bearers are: Megan Yocum, Courtney Douglas, Christian Brown, Skylee Brown, George Yocum, Jr., and Joey Yocum.
