Velna Denham

1922-2018

Velna Denham, 95, of Danville, passed away January 31, 2018 at her home. 

She was born on December 26, 1922, in Faubush, Kentucky to the late Killus Green and Margaret Molen Weddle. Velna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Densel Charles Denham. She was a faithful loving minister’s wife for many years serving many churches in Kentucky. Velna retired as a seamstress for Palm Beach Company. She was the oldest member of the Danville Church of God on Fourth Street, where she was a charter member. 

Surviving are two sons, Charles Denny Denham of Danville and Gary Keith Denham (Lois) of Danville; a daughter, Janet Faye Denham of Danville; three grandchildren, Emily Morris, Scott Denham, and Rev. Jason Boyd Moore; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. 

Funeral services 1 p.m. February 5, 2018 at Danville Church of God with Pastor Bryan Montgomery and Pastor Jason Moore officiating. Burial in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the church. 

Pallbearers will be Scott Denham, Dustin Bishop, Steve Miller, and Gary Crank. Honorary pallbearers will be Teresa Miller, Wanda Stratton, Mary Tackett, and Martha Sexton.
