Students in the Danville and Boyle County school systems celebrated the 100th day of classes on Tuesday. At Toliver Elementary School, a few kindergarten and first-grade students dressed as centenarians, while others sported special T-shirts they designed. Students also worked on projects that demonstrated what 100 looks like and created special snacks.
Mason Crank, a Toliver kindergarten student adjusts his bowtie during a class where a teacher was reading a story about 100 donuts, cookies and cakes.
Brigid Wilson, kindergarten, smiles with a head full of rollers and winkles drawn on her face.
After placing a numbered paper on its corresponding place on the line showing what 100 looks like, kindergarten student Devon McCane takes his cane and joins his class.
After students placed yellow numbered chicks along a display of 100 numbers, first-grader Cymia Johnson picks them up for the next class to use.
