A wreck in Perryville Monday afternoon resulted in the driver being arrested.

The incident report from the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office states that Jeremy L. Watson, 40, of Perryville, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol and third-degree criminal mischief.

“It appeared he overcorrected,” Young said.

When that happened, Young said, he ended up dropping off the edge of the road and flipping his truck. He was uninjured and had left the area on foot.

The incident report from the sheriff’s office states that Watson was located by a constable who spotted him in a tree line down the road.

“Upon contact ,(Watson)  stated he was driving and had consumed a couple of beers earlier,” the report said.

When a preliminary breathing test was conducted, he had a reading of .122 and a “strong odor of alcoholic beverages was omitting from his person.”

Other roadside tests were conducted and Watson was ultimately transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, where he consented to a blood test.
