News release
Three people in Danville were arrested Wednesday evening in connection with shoplifting, driving a stolen vehicle and other drug charges.
According to Danville Police, officers were searching for a white Trailblazer at about 5:15 p.m. that was seen fleeing Walmart after two males and a female involved in shoplifting left the store.
The vehicle’s license plate number showed it as being stolen. Officers found the vehicle parked nearby at Five Star Food Mart and the occupants, Clarrisa Yankey, 27 of Danville, Dameon Devine, 29, of Harrodsburg and Dusty Shackleford, 34, of Stanford were detained.
While searching the SUV, several items that had been stolen from Walmart were recovered. Police also learned of a theft from Liquor Barn that occurred a few minutes earlier that involved a female matching Yankey’s description.
This merchandise was also found in the vehicle.
All three suspects were arrested and charged with unlawful taking less than $500; possession of drug paraphernalia; first-degree possession of methamphetamine; and receiving stolen property more than $10,000 (relating to the stolen vehicle).
Devine was also found to have warrants for failure to appear and contempt of court, and probation violation.
Shackleford was also charged with tampering with physical evidence and failure to appear in court.
The three suspects are being held in the Boyle County Detention Center and bonds have been set at $25,000 each.
Officers Adam Wilson, Aaron Sparks and Tanner Abbott are the investigating officers.
