Bobby Alvin Smith, 83, of Crab Orchard, passed away at home on Friday, February 23.

He was born on July 19, 1934, to the late Willie and Grace (Middleton) Smith in the Bee Lick Community of Lincoln County. Bobby was the husband of Shirley Burke Smith whom he married on September 20, 1957. He had formerly worked for the Lincoln County Board of Education and for the Lincoln County Road Department. Bobby was a member of the Church of Christ and was a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Smith of Crab Orchard; three sons, Terry Smith, Brett Smith and wife Brooke, Bart Smith and wife Jennifer; three daughters, Libby Smith, Bobbie Smith, Dottie Smith all of Crab Orchard; three brothers, Donald Smith of Oldham County, Doug Smith of Crab Orchard, and Roy Smith of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, Benjamin, Amber, Brooklyn, Tayler, Ethan, Evan, Mason, Layla (Gabby), Tucker Smith and Samuel Durham; one great-grandson, Issac Ryan; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Pallbearers include his grandchildren, Sam Durham, Benjamin, Amber, Brooklyn Taylor, Ethan, Evan and Mason Smith.  Honorary pallbearers are Gabby, Tucker and Issac.

Funeral services 2 p.m., Sunday, February 25 at McKnight Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating.

Place of burial will be at Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6  to 9 p.m. on Saturday, February 24 at McKnight Funeral Home.
