Helen Joyce Clark

1934-2018

Helen Joyce Clark, 83, of Lancaster, passed away at her home on February 22, 2018 surrounded by her family. 

Joyce was born on June 8, 1934, to the late Roy and Bertha Dollins Dennis. She was a faithful member of Lancaster Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a loving wife of 64 years to husband, Gordon. She loved spending time with her great-grandson, Emmitt and helping with her church’s bereavement group. Joyce spent her younger years preparing burgers, fries, and milkshakes at the family owned Dairy Freeze. 

Other than her adoring husband, also surviving is a loving daughter, Jan (Norman) Davis; grandson, Jordan (Tara) Davis; great-grandson, Emmitt Davis; sister, Peggy (Kenneth) Yeakey; brother-in-law, John (Carroll) Clark, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Best officiating. Burial in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. 

Active pallbearers will be KJ Leavell, Kent Johnson, Casey Underwood, Adam Graham, Monty Major, and Scott Sowder. Honorary pallbearers will be Lancaster Baptist Velma Lucas Sunday School Class.
