Mary E. Morgan

1922-2018

Mary E. Morgan, age 95, of Stanford Care & Rehabilitation, formerly of Kings Mountain, passed Monday, February 26, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.

Born Sunday, April 9, 1922, in the Valley Station Community of Jefferson County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Hattie Baker Mitchell. She was the widow of Garland Boyd Morgan, who preceded her in death in July 1966. Mary was a former cashier at Walmart, past member of the Order of Eastern Star, and a member of Mt. Moriah Christian Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, square dancing, and loved flowers. 

Mary leaves behind four sons, James A. Board (Peggy Jo) of Stanford, Roy Dale Board (Rita Gay) of Kings Mountain, Donald Lee Morgan (Nancy) of Mount Orab, Ohio, and Ronald Lee Morgan (Nancy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; three daughters, Sue Ann Pearson (Kenneth) of West Chester, Ohio, Doris Yaden (Jerry) of Franklin, Indiana, and Bonnie Ronayne (Donald) of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Leona Brann of Toledo, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Helen Burton; one brother, Freddy Lee Mitchell; and four sisters, Georgie, Minnie, Edna, and Viola. 

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Mt. Moriah Christian Church with Jamie Board and Bro. Bill Gooch officiating the service. Burial will follow in Salyers Cemetery in Casey County. 

Jeff Board, Roger Board, Stephen Pearson, Rodney Yaden, Chris Morgan, Greg Morgan, Todd Crawford, and Keith Emerson will serve as active pallbearers. The visitation will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to Mt. Moriah Christian Church, 8545 KY Highway 1247, Stanford, Kentucky 40484.
