1916-2018

Catheryne Cooper Wilson, 101, of Stanford passed away on March 8, 2018 in Lexington.

She was the widow of Emery L. Wilson to whom she was married 59 years. Born October 30, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Frank Bryan and Jessie Peek Cooper. She was a member of the Stanford Christian Church, member of Christian Women’s Fellowship, church choir, Sunday school teacher and elder emeritus. She also served on the Harvey Helm Library Board and was active in county and area Homemakers and Onward Homemakers Clubs. She was retired from the Lincoln County National Bank where she was employed 33 years as an assistant vice president. 

Survivors include a son, Dr. Emery A. Wilson (Clara); sister, Velma C. Nunnelley of Albany, Oregon; grandchildren, Dr. Emily W. Cunningham (Larry) and Lt. Colonel Bryan D. Wilson (Mary Leigh); great grandchildren, Jackson and Cate Cunningham and Cooper and Luke Wilson. 

Her other sister, Dorothy C. Austin, Danville, predeceased her. 

Visitation will be Monday, March 12, 2018 from 10 a.m. -12 noon with funeral service beginning at 12 noon at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford with Rev. James Baughman officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. 

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Lincoln County Educational Fund or to the Stanford Christian Church.
