Pets of the week, March 13

Our featured pets this week are Hallie and Miley.

Hallie

Hallie is a gorgeous 6-month-old dilute calico kitty. She was surrendered, along with several of her siblings, because her owner had more cats than he could care for. Hallie is sweet and yet has a spunky side to her personality. She likes to be a little bossy with her sister and so she can have first choice of where she sleeps. If you are looking for a beautiful feline companion with precious markings and just a bit of an attitude, Hallie may be the purrfect kitty for you.

Miley

Miley is a very sweet smaller mixed breed dog that lost her home because of her owner’s failing health. Miley may be a Chihuahua and Rat Terrier mix and is about 11 years old. She weighs slightly less than 20 pounds. We were told that Miley was an outside dog, but surely she deserves to be inside the home with a comfortable bed and lots of love. Miley adores attention and wants to be a lap dog. Are you ready to open your heart and your home to this little bit older girl and give her the life she deserves?

Warmer weather means more trips to the park, longer walks and more chances for your pet to wander off or possibly slip out of the house. After all this winter weather check your backyard fence, window screens and screen doors and make sure they are pet proof. Make sure your dog or cat has a microchip for identification and wears a tag with your contact information. Keep several recent photos of your pet in case you have to go looking for a lost companion. If your pet goes missing promptly call the humane society to file a report so hopefully your dog or kitty can quickly make it back home.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
