Mabel Potts Blair

1927-2018

Mabel Potts Blair, 91, of Danville, passed away March 13, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

She was born on January 26, 1927, in Boyle County to the late Earl B. and Hattie Conder Potts. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Blair. She worked for Palm Beach factory for many years and was a faithful, charter member of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church. She was very active in her church, serving on the church board and ladies auxiliary as secretary and treasurer, taught junior boys and senior adults, song leader, and had 45 year sunday school perfect attendance. 

Surviving are two sisters, Nancy Langdon of Kennesaw, Georgia and Lois Evans of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. 

Also preceding her in death are four brothers, Charles, Bobby, Donald, and Henry Potts; and a sister, Louise Lanham. Funeral services 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Jolene Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday. 

Pallbearers will be nephews, Bobby Joe, David, and Don Potts, Anthony Evans; Jerry Bailey, and Bobby Branscum. Honorary pallbearers will be Violet Abrams, Dr. John Horn, Dr. Dan Moran, and Jimmy Ely. www.prestonpruitt.com
