Dear Editor,

On March 24 at 12 p.m. in Harrodsburg, we, high school students of Burgin Independent School, will be having a March for Our Lives event. We will be marching from the Old Harrodsburg High School to the Courthouse at 12 p.m., with speakers at the courthouse at 1 p.m.

The goal of this event is to bring awareness to safety in public schools. School safety is a nonpartisan issue that affects the entire community; we don’t want to be forgotten. Students across the nation are gathering on this day to let lawmakers know that action needs to be taken to make our schools safer.
