South District Baptist Association meeting
The next South District Baptist Associational Widows/Widowers meal and meeting will be Sunday, April 8 at the Gethsemane Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 123 Quisenberry Avenue in Danville. This is a Christ-centered ministry intended to provide support and fellowship to the widows and widowers in our community. Serving will begin at 12:30 p.m. Deborah Cooley of Gethsemane will provide the music and an informational and inspirational program will also be presented. RSVP to Dr. Cheryl Erwin at (859) 948-5979 or erwinlexky@hotmail.com. All widows and widowers are invited regardless of church affiliation or not.
Easter Cantata
Centenary United Methodist Church will present an Easter Cantata 11:15 a.m., Sunday, March 25, 1441 Perryville Road, Danville.
Easter egg hunt
Join Centenary United Methodist Church, 1441 Perryville Road, for the annual Easter Egg Hunt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 31. There will be games, crafts, a story, egg hunt and a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny.
Easter Sunday sunrise service
The public is invited to bring a chair and join Centenary United Methodist Church, 1441 Perryville Road at 6:30 a.m. for the Easter sunrise service (April 1) by the crosses on the lawn. In case of rain, service will be held in our Chapel.
Memorial service planned
A celebration of life service for Agnes Best White, who died Feb. 15 in Georgia, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at Perryville United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the church.
Living Last Supper presented
The public is cordially invited to share in the performance of The Living Last Supper, presented 6 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Stanford Baptist Church. The Living Last Supper, written by Ernest K. Pmurian and edited by Ben Hawkins, depicts the DiVinci “Last Supper.”
The cast includes: Nathaniel-Tony Potts, James the Lesser-Jeff Morris, Andrew-Jonathan Baker, Judas-Shawn Ingram, Peter-Brandon Curlis, John- Mark Upchurch, Thomas-Daniel Foster, James-Tim Whitis, Phillip-Travis Leffew, Matthew-Ricky Lane, Thaddeus-Ricky Mullins, Simon the Zealot- Damon Foster, Jesus-Michael Tracy. Billy Harris will serve as narrator. In this play, each of the disciples give a heart searching narrative as they try to determine who will betray Christ. This is an opportunity for the audience to also search their own hearts.
The community is invited to share in this Holy Week event. Please bring a non-perishable food item and an offering will be received both to benefit Fort Logan Cooperative Ministries. A reception will follow the service in the Christian Life Center.
