Billy Joe Holt

1937-2018

Billy Joe Holt, 80, went home to be with his Lord Friday, March 23, 2018. Born in Mitchellsburg on March 26, 1937, a son of the late Aubrey Jackson and Ella Frances Baugh Holt. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Macie Elizabeth Brady Holt.

Billy Joe was a member of Mitchellsburg Church of God and worked in many different trades throughout his life. He was a carpenter, a brick and stone mason, a mechanic, a car body repairman and painter. He retired from Sellers Engineering. He enjoyed woodworking, Bluegrass music, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his daughter, Anita Jo (Kevin) Wilson, two sons, Michael Dean (Jolene) Holt and William Jackson “Jacky” (Kathy) Holt, five grandchildren, Michael DeWayne Wilson, Jackalinne Marie Holt, William Jackson “Junior” Holt, Brandon Dean Holt and Johnny Waldrep; three great grandchildren, Emily Wilson, Logan Wilson and Jaydalin Waldrep, great niece Melody Renee Holt, two brothers, Marvin (Katherine) Holt and Fairley (Beverly) Holt; a sister, Alma Plumer; sister-in law, Alice Holt; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Jackson “Buggie” Holt and a sister, Elsie Marie Wofford.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with Bro. Lonnie Goodin and Bro. Buck Fultz officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Doug Holt, Dan Holt, Jacky Holt, Stanley Holt, Michael Wilson and Rodney Holt. Kevin Wilson and Gary Pike will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
