Georgette Sims

1940-2018

Georgette Sims, 77, passed away Friday March 23, 2018. She was born July 28, 1940 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Francis and Rachel Maggard Day. Georgette was the wife of the late Harry Sims who passed away in 2017.

Georgette was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Danville and was a Registered Nurse. She worked for many years at the former Kentucky State Hospital and enjoyed playing golf, cooking, singing in the church choir, and she could walk for miles.

Survivors include her daughters, Tracie Belcher (Mick), Kristie Laswell, grandchildren, Madison Laswell, Baylee Henry, sister, Louise Sturgill, and brother, Gene Day.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Sims, and five brothers, Zane, Benton, Jimmy, Franky, and Elmo Day.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday March 30, 2018 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with Bro. Andy Mikels officiating. Burial will follow in Parksville Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday March 29, 2018 from 5-8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Sims, Anthony Honaker, Thomas Sims, Doug Wilson, Doug Sims, Keith “Skeeter” Sims, Mick Caudill, and Hal Chambers.
