Larry Dale Lyons

1949-2018

Larry Dale Lyons, 69, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. 

He was born in Hopkinsville on January 11, 1949, a son of the late Rev. James and Freeda May Lyons. Larry’s passion was teaching. He retired in 2005 after 27 years as a teacher at Junction City Elementary. He enjoyed taking care of his property, golf and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by one son, Nicholas Dale (Gigi) Lyons; four grandchildren, Ashley, Cassandra, Ezekiel and Isaiah Lyons; one brother, Jim (Gay) Lyons; two nephews, Richard Lyons and Randy Jett; three nieces, Kristi (Johnny) Wyatt, Kim (Don) Hughes and Rana Jett; and brother-in-law, James Jett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Jett.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 31, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Walden Funeral Home Perryville. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Doug Lester officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jim Lyons, Nick Lyons, Richard Lyons, Randall Emmons, T. J. Lyons and Matt Rogers.
