Assault rifles should not be as common as they are

Dear Editor,

Our family has a good friend who is a gun owner and avid hunter. He says assault rifles are fun to shoot. He also says they are killing machines developed by the armed services and should not be as prevalent as they are now. He thinks we’d better start that process to limit them.

Parents, grandparents and young people across the country have not been heard by our lawmakers, but I hope they will be heard now. We are not trying to destroy Second Amendment rights.
