Lynn named administrator at Haggin

Ephraim McDowell Health announces that Dr. Lynne Warner Lynn, DNP, RN, has been formally named the Administrator at Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital.  She has served as interim hospital administrator since December 1.  In addition to her duties as administrator, Lynn will continue her role as the Vice President of Clinical Effectiveness and Medical Staff Services for Ephraim McDowell Health.
Lynn has a 35-year history with Ephraim McDowell, beginning her career at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center as a registered nurse.  During her career, she has provided ICU nursing care at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and also taught clinical nursing programs at the hospital while still working for Ephraim McDowell.  Lynn holds degrees from Centre College, the University of Kentucky, and most recently (2017), she was awarded the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Eastern Kentucky University.  Additionally, Lynn maintains national certifications as a nurse executive, health care accreditation professional and a faith community nurse.

Bevin appoints Waynesburg man named to board

FRANKFORT – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointment to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:
Wesley Madison Cornett has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority Board of Directors and the Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation Board of Directors. Cornett, of Waynesburg, is the former principal of Somerset High School. He will serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2021.
The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority Board of Directors and the Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation Board of Directors is a public corporation, governmental agency and instrumentality of the Commonwealth established in 1966 to improve students’ access to higher education. KHEAA/KHESLC administers several financial aid programs and disseminates information about higher education opportunities. The appointees are selected by the Governor from a list submitted by the Postsecondary Education Nominating Commission and they serve four-year terms.
