John T. Logan, of Jenkintown, PA, formerly of Lancaster, passed away into God’s loving care on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was 66 years old. 

John was born in Muncie, Indiana on September 27, 1951, to James and Willie Marie (nee Kennedy) Logan. He was the husband to Ann B. (nee Seitz) Logan and together they shared 44 years of marriage. John attended the Mason School and graduated from Garrard County High School. He then attended and graduated from Ball State University and then attended Penn State University’s Harrisburg Campus. John worked as an Acquisition Specialist for the Department of Defense. His true passion was genealogy and he was the family historian for three families associated with him; the Logan’s, the Kennedy’s, and the Ray’s. He was the president of the Logan Family Reunion and was involved in the Family Reunion Conference at Temple University. Through genealogy, John enjoyed finding new relatives and learning more about his family’s heritage. John was also the co-founder of the African American Genealogy Group, (AAGG) in Philadelphia and was an honorary member of the Kentucky Colonels. 

In addition to his wife Ann, John is survived by his three loving children, Jennifer Van Volkinburg (John “Mac”), Adam Logan, and Rebecca Jones (Elijah); as well as four grandchildren, Caleb, Ethan, Sebastian, and Logan. He is also survived by his sister, Edyth Hockaday; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Funeral services for John will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Pleasant Run Baptist Church in Lancaster, Kentucky. Visitation Saturday 11 a.m.-until time of service.
