Fairley served his Country in the United States Army and the National Guard and was a member of North Rolling Fork Baptist Church. According to his son-in-law Phillip, Fairley was a true renaissance man, he could fix just about anything and Phillip enjoyed talking about guns, old cars and motorcycles with Fairley. His “Little Buddy” Branden said Great-Grandpa Fairley was his go to person to fix anything and to get advice. They also enjoyed four-wheeling together. Angie loved looking at the flowers in the yard with her Dad and said he enjoyed target shooting and re-loading his own shells. Charlotte said her Dad taught her to play the guitar at nine years of age and they enjoyed being in the Gospel group Surrendered with each other. Beverly however, summed it all up by saying her husband was so very special in every way and she enjoyed going fishing with him just to be with him because she did not like to fish.
