A rain shower didn’t dampen the annual high-spirited competition as Jennie Rogers Elementary celebrated Kentucky’s history with its final Kidtucky Derby Friday afternoon. More than 50 kindergarteners wearing white T-shirts they decorated themselves raced for the last time at the school. The young students raced their stick horses around a track while first- through fifth-grade students, teachers and family members cheered for them from the sideline.
