Dear Editor,

I would give a hearty two thumbs up to Bob Martin for his letter in today’s newspaper. In my opinion, it is a tragedy that our president has been so hatefully maligned. 

As Mr. Martin wrote, “Seeking to impeach Trump as soon as he takes office is an abuse of the impeachment process and the Constitution … We are obliged to respect the office, not necessarily the man/woman’s policies in office.”  

The continued witch hunts, fake news, and nasty rhetoric, from either or both leading parties, is counterproductive, and the philosophy of political correctness is overblown. It would truly be refreshing if our country as a whole would stop being offended and start supporting our duly elected officials.
