At the May meeting of the Garden Club of Danville, members learned about the importance of good potting soil for successful container gardening. Examining  soil samples are, from left, Gigi Biles, Chris Kubale, Geri Trinler and presenter Diana Pulliam. Club member Pulliam brought along samples of potting soil and discussed how ingredients and their proportions differ from brand to brand. She cautioned against buying very inexpensive soil and explained what the various ingredients contribute to the mix.
