Junction City finalizes budget without discussion
Junction City Council had a second reading of and approved its 2018-19 budget unanimouosly in a special called meeting that lasted less than 30 seconds Thursday night.
The council passed the $889,690 budget without any questions or discussion, just as it did when it held its first reading on June 14.
The new budget is $29,565 larger than the current fiscal year’s budget, and estimated expenditures have increased $28,686. The city plans to spend $313,800 in general-fund expenditures.
Notable changes in the new budget include:
• The city anticipates $29,150 more in municipal insurance tax revenue.
• Miscellaneous revenue increased to $25,000, which is $10,000 more than the current fiscal year budget line item.
• ABC revenue is estimated at $72,000 which is $23,000 less revenue than was budgeted for this fiscal year.
The budget plans for $226,250 in expenditures for the Junction City Police Department; and $55,940 for the Junction City Fire Department.
