Victim identified in fatal accident on Ky. 39
STANFORD — Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly Tuesday morning crash in Lincoln County as Lawrence Burdette, 50, of Mount Vernon. The single-vehicle crash occurred 12:14 a.m. Tuesday on Ky. 39, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Michael J. Mullins said the preliminary investigation indicates Burdette was driving south on Ky. 39 when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled over before striking a tree in the driver’s side door area. The roadway was shut down for approximately four hours as a result of the crash.
The Lincoln County Fire Department, EMS and Coroner Farris Marcum assisted at the scene. The case remains under investigation by Mullins and Sgt. Sim Thacker.
