Shirley Baugh Montgomery Powell

1942-2018

Shirley Baugh Montgomery Powell, 75, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018, at her home. She was born July, 27, 1942 in Boyle County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Homer and Virgie Holt Baugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Montgomery.

Shirley was a member of North Rolling Fork Baptist Church and attended Mitchellsburg Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include four sons, Randy (Margaret) Montgomery, Troy (Jamie) Montgomery, Daniel Montgomery and Alvin Lee (Shanda) Powell, one daughter, Anna (Jimmy) Smothers, 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and three sisters, Wanda Taylor, Katherine Greer and Doris (Jerry) Garrett.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carlie Montgomery, and a brother, Harold Baugh.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Walden Funeral Home, Perryville with Rev. Doug Thacker and Rev. Ollie Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in Parksville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, and after 9 a.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Clark, Randall Thomas Montgomery, Austin Montgomery, John Wayne Tungate, Brian Hutchins and Rowdy Powell.

Honorary bearers will be Shirley’s granddaughters.
