Our featured pets for this week are Holly Purry and Axle.

Holly Purry is a beautiful 3-year-old tabby. She was a friendly stray that came to the humane society along with her five kittens.

The kittens have been weaned and adopted and now it is Holly Purry’s turn to find her forever home. This sweet girl is calm and gentle and really is a “purry kitty”. She gets along well in one of our kitty condos sharing space nicely with other adult cats. If Holly Purry sound like your purrfect match, come visit her at the humane society. 

Axle is a handsome 1-year-old Boxer mix. He is a gorgeous light brindle color and weighs about 50 pounds. Axle is very friendly, everyone is his best buddy. He was adopted as a darling puppy and now that he is grown his owner doesn’t have time to care for him and he was returned to the humane society to make a fresh start. Axle is an active fellow and needs a home where he will get plenty of exercise and attention. If you are looking for a great friend, jogging partner and loyal companion, Axle may just be your boy.

Our next DBCHS obedience class is this Saturday at 12:30 p.m.. The class is held inside the service department at the Stuart Powell Ford Dealership on the U.S. 127 Danville bypass. The class is free for those who have adopted from a shelter or rescue. Others are welcome to join in for a small donation to the humane society. Please pre-register for the class by emailing
