“Bluegrass Greensource is excited to expand our outreach efforts in Lincoln and Garrard Counties,” said Executive Director Amy Sohner. “We look forward to working with schools and the community at large to provide consistent, clear and effective information about recycling and waste reduction. Our mission is to empower the Bluegrass to create a sustainable environment, and one of its key initiatives is to increase student and community knowledge of waste reduction issues in central Kentucky. This grant will allow Greensource to provide experiential lessons about recycling as well as promote recycling at school sporting events.”

In addition to working with students, the grant will also allow for education through waste analyses and workshops on recycling to better engage businesses who have shown leading roles in regards to recycling efforts. These projects will be accompanied by press releases, articles, advertisements and social media campaigns in order to educate residents about the types of services available to them.
