Boyle waste tire program Sept. 27 and 28

Boyle County Department of Solid Waste Management will accept tires on and off the rims free of charge through the Kentucky Waste Tire Program Thursday and Friday, Sept. 27 and 28, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 29, from 7 a.m. to noon. Tires can be brought to the state highway garage on North Stewarts Lane. Any Boyle County resident is eligible to participate.

Items that will be accepted include tires on and off rims, including farm implement, bicycle, motorcycle, go-kart, ATV, truck and passenger tires. Items that will NOT be accepted include foam- or calcium-filled tires (or otherwise filled), off road construction tires (OTR), tracks or sheet rubber, any tire with a bead greater than 1.75 inches and solid tires with pressed-on rims. No tire retailers, scrap/salvage yards or recycle businesses may participate. This will be strictly enforced; state and local inspectors will be on site.
