Be prepared to vote in November

Dear Editor,

Nov. 6, 2018, will be here before you know it. Now is the time to consider your stand on what is important to you, to your family, to your neighbors, and to our country.

Will it be how we value our teachers or how we police our young people? Is it about what our state needs: better jobs, an efficient plan to address the opioid crisis or will it be about what the rich people can save in THEIR taxes?

Maybe it should be about how we treat people of color, immigrants from faraway places OR: will it be about a favored class or race or country? Will we take serious care of our planet and environment or will we rip away all of the legislation designed to give us clean air, clean water and clean lives?

Perhaps we will discover how to get BIG money out of politics and out of healthcare. Our lives and our well-being may well depend on just those types of choices. Shall we protect Medicare and Social Security or will those programs and OUR money be lost in a cloud of legislation?

Above all else, most especially in this November election, put your efforts toward our future.

Only your vote will define where we go from this point forward.
