Davis recognized for extraordinary service
DANVILLE — Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Dawn Davis, RN, a nurse in the Pain Center, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Mercer County, Dawn has been caring for patients at EMRMC for 12 years.
She was nominated by a patient that said, “I have had a couple of surgeries and Dawn was always there to comfort me. Just recently I had surgery and not only did Dawn take the time to explain the procedure, but she also spoke to the nurses that were going to be there with me. She also spoke to the anesthesiologist because she knew I was terrified and she knew how hard it is to get an IV in me. Even though she was not part of the surgical team, she came in a little early just to see me, talk to me and comfort me before surgery. She is truly an angel in my eyes.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout EMRMC and Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital and Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital.
