There’s been some inclement weather whipping through the area, but that won’t stop the outdoor movie extravaganza offered by the Heart of Danville from returning.
Saturday evening, Constitution Square Historic Site Park will be the site of families and friends gathering with lawn chairs, blankets, popcorn and more. All ages are welcome to join in watching “Black Panther,” rated PG-13, which will show on the big movie screen.
The free event has been rescheduled twice due to rain and storms.
Popcorn and drinks are sold during the event, with all proceeds going to support downtown revitalization through the Heart of Danville.
“Lawn Chair Theater is a great opportunity for all members of our community to come out and watch a free movie together,” said Nick Wade, director of the Heart. “We have seen families with young kids, couples on dates and even visiting Irish students join us for our movie series.”

The Heart is also offering a Dog Days of Summer Sidewalk Sale Friday and Saturday. Each business will have sales and specials lining the streets. Heart of Danville’s executive director, Nick Wade, said the event will help merchants sell items at great prices to get ready for the holiday shopping season.
