As Hogsett Primary students attend school at the former Jennie Rogers Elementary School this year, their future home is undergoing a total renovation and expansion. Currently, crews are about three weeks into interior demolition in the Hogsett building, said Derek Jones, a foreman for Mays Demolition working on the project. It will take about three or four more weeks to finish removing most of the interior walls, he said. The Danville Independent School District hopes to have the school renovated and a preschool addition constructed in time for the 2019-20 school year. Mary G. Hogsett Primary School is for all students in the district from preschool through first grade.
