The Boyle County Marching Rebels practiced outside of the high school Thursday to prepare for game night, as well as an exhibition performance they have scheduled next month. On Saturday, Sept. 15, Boyle will host an invitational of 12 bands, competing all day into the evening; the Rebels will perform as an exhibition to close the show that night. Many don’t know the work band members put in and the sacrifices they make in order to create a regimented group, one band booster says, and that they often don’t see the same “love” shown to organized sports.
