Pollinator gardens and recycled containers at the Garden Club
Shannon Trimboli, left, author of “Plants Honeybees Use,” was speaker for the September meeting of the Garden Club of Danville. She presented a program about gardening
for pollinators, with pictures of flowering plants to include in home gardens from very early spring until late fall. She stressed the importance of avoiding chemicals that could be harmful to insects. Garden Club members brought floral arrangements using recycled containers. Jane Snowden, right, made a vase from a light bulb by carefully knocking its top off and setting it on a coil of rope. She filled the vase with flowers from her garden that pollinators like.
