Casey County grand jury indicts eight

The following people were indicted by a Casey County grand jury on Sept. 10:

• Daniel Travis Abell, 26, 1474 Dry Ridge Road, Liberty: first-degree bail jumping. No bond was set and a summons was issued. Commonwealth’s Detective Dennis Allen testified.

• Anna Laura Scott, 49, 4056 Jonathan Fork Road, Liberty: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, third or more offense. Bail was set at $2,500 cash only. Geoff Brown with the Casey County Sheriff’s Office testified.

• Billy Joe Carmicle, 54, Tucker Lane, Yosemite: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth, third or more offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; public intoxication with a controlled substance. Bail was set at $1,500. Bryan Shepard with the CCSO testified.

• Linda Sue Maynard, 38, 1233 Short Town Road, Liberty: fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, third or more offense by kicking a male and striking him in the face with a glass jar. Bond continued from district court. Shepard testified.

• Jonathan W. Harmon, 21, 2844 Dry Creek Road, Elk Horn: fraudulent use of a credit card between $500 and $10,000. Same bond continued from district court. Casey County Sheriff Jerry Coffman testified.

• Michael Anthony Tetreault, 26, 119 Phillips St., Liberty: theft by unlawful taking of property valued between $500 and $10,000 when he took a van with an attached box trailer. Liberty Police Chief Steven Garrett testified. Theft by unlawful taking of property valued between $10,000 and $1 million when he took a pickup truck belonging to Country Auto Sales. Coffman testified. Receiving stolen property valued between $500 and $10,000 when he took a pickup truck knowing it had been stolen; obscuring the identity of a machine valued between $500 and $10,000 when he defaced the manufacturer’s serial number of a truck; driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol; driving on a suspended license; no driver’s insurance; no or expired registration plates; no registration receipt; no seat belts. Ronnie Smith with the LPD testified. Tetreault was also charged with four counts of first-degree being a persistent felony offender. Bail was set at $10,000 cash only.

• Larry Nicholas Bryant, 39, 125 Broughton Hills, Liberty: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, meth; possession of drug paraphernalia; second-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI; driving on suspended license. Bail was continued from district court. Chad Weddle with the CCSO testified.

• Kenneth Michael Wheeler, 60, 19 Scudder Circle, Lawrenceburg, Indiana: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second offense, oxycodone; possession of drug paraphernalia; second-degree possession of a controlled substance, buprenorphine; third-degree possession of a controlled substance, alprazolam; driving on a suspended license; prescription controlled substance not in original container. No bond was set. Allen testified.
