Board of Education candidates to have forum

All five candidates running for the Danville Schools Board of Education will attend a public forum at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 at Gravely Hall at Danville High School. The Danville Education Association and the Danville Schools Education Foundation are sponsoring the event. The moderator will be Barry Peel, a retired broadcast journalist. The format will consist of each candidate having two minutes for opening and closing remarks and answering questions by the moderator.

The candidates are Paul Smiley, Glenn Ball, Steve Becker, Michael Strysick and Aaron Etherington.

Reception for Danville teachers and staff

A reception for all teachers and staff of the Danville School System who served at any time from 1965 to 1978 will be held Friday, Sept. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 200 Shannon Way in Danville.
