Rocco is a handsome seven-month-old classic tabby. He was surrendered to the humane society because his owner did not have time for a pet. Friendly, cuddly, and gregarious all describe Rocco. He is residing in one of our kitty condos, sharing space nicely with several other adult cats. This amiable fellow will make a great addition to most any home looking for a great feline friend!

Ariel is a beautiful one-year-old hound mix. She’s a pretty tri-color and looks like a Walker Coonhound mix and weighs about 45 lbs. Ariel is friendly and gets along fine with other dogs. She does lack a little confidence and would benefit from a new family where she can have consistent handling and receive positive reinforcement. Ariel would love a large fenced yard or a home in the country where she can get plenty of exercise. Come meet this lovely girl and see if you are a perfect match!

October is Adopt-A-Shelter Dog month!! This annual event encourages people to save lives and enhance their own by adopting a dog from a shelter or rescue group. At the DBCHS we have many beautiful and loving dogs and puppies that are waiting to find their perfect forever home. To celebrate this

month we are offering reduced adoptions fees for our dogs and puppies that are adopted at the humane society. Dogs over six months of age can be adopted for $50 and the adoption fee for puppies is $65. This includes the spay/neuter surgery and started on vaccinations and deworming. If you have been considering adding a canine member to your family, why not choose your next best friend during this special month.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet overpopulation by having your pet spayed or neutered.
