Bottom for Boyle County clerk

Published 6:58 am Tuesday, October 16, 2018

It is my honor and pleasure to submit this letter in support of my dear friend of many years and fellow Kiwanian of nearly a decade, incumbent candidate for Boyle County Clerk, Trille Bottom. A life-long resident of Boyle County, Trille exhibits a true devotion to our community through her service to others with Kiwanis Club of Danville and other local organizations. Her enthusiasm, integrity and can-do attitude are evident in the approach she takes to every challenge and she is a genuine asset to any role in which she serves both personally and professionally.

Appointed as Boyle County Clerk in October 2008, Trille ran opposed in 2010 and again unopposed in 2014. She is running for her third term in November 2018. During her tenure, Trille has amassed over 700 training hours, nearly double the amount required, and has done so to keep her office knowledgeable on the newest laws and requirements. As Boyle County Clerk, her supervisory duties include motor vehicle/boat registrations, recording land documents, elections and delinquent property tax collections.

Technology is another key component that is important to Trille’s expectations in her office.  Her office was one of five counties that participated in the pilot project when the Print on Demand Decals (PODD) were introduced. She was instrumental in assisting with the new voter registration system (VRS) that is used now. In fact, her office was the driving force behind finding the loopholes in the system when it was first implemented. Recently, she volunteered her office to be one of seven test counties using the new E-Poll book voter roster system in the 2016 Fall General Election and the 2018 Primary Election.

Trille has a passion for helping people in our community in her role as Boyle County Clerk. In fact, she has instilled a new motto among her employees, “Helping you is what we do!”  A favorite part of her job is assisting a customer tracing their property chain of title back to the beginning.  She loves to get her hands on the “old books” and just feel the history waiting to be told. xBoyle County has a rich heritage and Trille is honored to have a part in preserving the history recorded in her office since 1842.

Please join me on Nov. 6 in voting to keep Trille Bottom’s proven service as Boyle County Clerk.
