Hogsett Primary School students Miryam Massey and Gus Singleton were given Celebration of Excellence awards by Hogsett Principal Leo Labrillazo, Superintendent Tammy Shelton and school board Chair Paige Matthews during a school board meeting Monday, Oct. 22. Massey’s award was for “taking initiative” and Singleton’s award was for “perseverance.”
