Etherington for Danville school board

I am a 1982 Danville High School graduate and have always been proud to say I went to the Danville Schools first through 12th grades. (Shout out to Hogsett and the old Bate Junior High School.) Danville is a unique district with a rich history of student success and innovative leaders.

I have worked with Aaron Etherington for the past five school years. During that time, I have had a front row seat to view his unwavering advocacy for all students. I worked with him at Danville High School and have continued that working relationship with him at East Jessamine High School. He works collaboratively with parents, teachers, staff, students and other administrators. He is student-centered. If it isn’t what is best for students, then it doesn’t happen. He has the energy of three people, always on the move and thinking about what’s next and how we can make improvements.

In the years he has been instructional leader at EJHS, our school has had continuous academic and school culture improvements. It didn’t happen overnight, but with his consistent leadership, we stayed the course and have reaped the benefits.

With all of that said, I am recommending Aaron for Danville school board. He can take that experience and help the Danville community make relevant and insightful decisions for educating the kids of Danville.

Having a current school administrator serve on a board of education is kind of rare. But isn’t it about time? Isn’t it time to make space at the table for educators to have input in decisions about education? Makes sense to me. Go Ads!
