World Day of Prayer at Gethsemane Baptist

Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer is being celebrated at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 123 Quisenberry Avenue. This event is open to the public and for both men and women. Individuals are invited to join the celebration and pray for women around the world. This year’s theme is “Arise and Shine Through Prayer.”

To start the event, a meal will be served at 6 p.m. in the church’s Walter Montgomery Fellowship Hall, immediately followed by a program (around 6:45 p.m.) in the sanctuary. There will be displays from different countries as we recognize our global connection with women around the world. There will also be a specific and special time of sharing and prayer for women from different countries.

Special music will be provided by Shannette Ouellette. A special offering will be taken. Call the church office at (859) 236-258 with any questions

World Day of Prayer at Pleasant View Baptist

The Baptist World Alliance Women’s World Day of Prayer will be observed Monday, Nov. 5, at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 13571 Ky. 1247 South, Waynesburg. A salad supper will begin at 6 p.m. in the basement fellowship hall. Bring your favorite salad and enjoy. Prayer time will begin at 7 p.m. We will be sharing and praying for needs of women around the world. Everyone is invited to attend (men included).

Grace & Faith Church Christmas bazaar

A Christmas bazaar a Grace & Faith Church will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in the old Grider Furniture building in Junction City. Lots of vendors will be present with all kinds of Christmas presents and decor. The church will be serving a soup and sandwich lunch and having a silent auction.

St. Andrew Christmas bazaar

St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1125 Danville Road in Harrodsburg, will have a bazaar and luncheon Nov. 16-17. Handcrafted items and gift baskets will be sold, as well as a bake sale featuring homemade cakes, pies, cookies, candy, fruit cakes, sourdough bread and more. Raffle items and a silent auction will also be held. Visitors may dine in on soups, sandwiches, desserts and a drink for $5. The event will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with the luncheon held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. The proceeds of this event will go to the Saint Andrew Catholic Church and the Christian Life Center.
