Kenneth M. Tirrell

1937-2018

Kenneth M. Tirrell, 81, of Lancaster, Ky., passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at his home. He was born April 2,1937, in Northampton, Massachusetts to the late Clifford and Madeline Vagel Tirrell of Greenfield, Massachusetts.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna Gallant Tirrell of Turners Falls, Massachusetts. Kenneth was a proud Air Force veteran. After his honorable discharge, he became employed at Deerfield Plastics where he worked for 39 years between Massachusetts and Kentucky. He retired in 1997 and moved to Marco Island, Florida, where he resided for 20 years. Kenneth returned to Kentucky just one year ago which was his favorite place to be. Kenneth always told his family he wanted to “live and die in Kentucky.” Kenneth enjoyed fishing the rivers and lakes of Kentucky as well as golfing.

Surviving are two sons, Craig Tirrell (Tracy) of Marco Island, Florida and Todd Tirrell of Lancaster; two daughters, Laurie Jennings (Clayton) of Athol, Massachusetts and Jennifer Smith (David) of Lancaster; a brother, Maynard Tirrell (Shirley) of Clermont, Florida; and grandchildren, Madison Smith, Caleb Jennings, Colton Smith, Grant Tirrell, Brennan Smith, Alyssa Jennings, and Luke Tirrell.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Father Peter Joseph officiating. Visitation 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday.
