Camp Nelson Veterans Day ceremony

Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 6980 Danville Road, Nicholasville, will hold a Veterans Day ceremony, 11 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 11 at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery flag pole. Guest speaker is David K. Names added to Veterans Wall

The following names were recently added to the Veterans Wall of Honor at the Boyle County Fairgrounds: Ryan Patrick Love, U.S. Army, Iraq; Ronnie H. Wofford, U.S. Marine Corps, Vietnam; William B. Bowell, U.S. Army, 1955-1958; Robert B. Vanderpool, U.S. Army, Korea; Charles R. Lee Jr., U.S. Marine Corps, Korea.

Name to be dedicated at Kentucky Vietnam memorial

Boyle county native Sgt. Edward D. Bennett has had his name added to the Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial. A dedication ceremony at be take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 located on Coffee Tree Road in Frankfort. Nancy Ketelhohn, Regent of St. Asaph NSDAR said all who are interested are welcome to attend.

Post 15 to conduct traffic safety checkpoints

COLUMBIA — Kentucky State Police, Post 15 will be conducting safety traffic checkpoints in the Post 15 area, which includes Washington, Marion, Taylor, Green, Casey, Russell, Adair, Metcalfe, Monroe, Clinton and Cumberland. Troopers will be checking for impaired drivers, children that are not properly restrained in child safety seats and informing the public about the use of seatbelts. These safety checkpoints will be conducted in various locations throughout the Post 15 area that are experiencing a high ratio of vehicular crashes resulting in injury and/or death compared to relatively low safety restraint usage ratio.
