Meetings

Boyle and Mercer County Joint Jail Committee — 1:30 p.m. Friday Nov. 9 in the Boyle County Fiscal Courtroom.

Wilderness Trace Chapter of Kentuckians for the Commonwealth — 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at Inter-County Energy Community Room, 1009 Hustonville Rd.  Enter the building on the left side. Please note date change from the first Monday of the month. It is a time to plan local work, discuss local and statewide work, meet new people and much more. Everyone who shares the group’s values and common vision is welcome to attend.

Solid Waste/Recycle Committee and Animal Control Committee — both meetings have been changed to Nov. 13. Solid Waste will meet at 1:30 p.m. at 1862 South Danville Bypass. Animal control will meet at 2:30 p.m. at 777 North Danville Bypass.

KSD Pancake and Sausage Day set

Kentucky School for the Deaf’s annual Pancake and Sausage Day will be held Saturday, Nov. 10  at Grow Hall Cafeteria on the campus of KSD. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. with meals served until about 12:30 p.m. There will also be lively auctions and drawings for prizes.

Pancake meals cost $6  for adults and children age 7 and older; $3 for children ages 3 to 6; and children ages up to 2 can eat free. Meal and raffle tickets may be purchased at the door. Raffle tickets are $1 each. All proceeds go to support KSD students, KSD Alumni projects and Jacobs Hall Museum

Drawings for raffle ticket prizes will be at 1 p.m. and include several TVs, a Ninja blender, programmable pressure cooker, cash and gift certificates for popular restaurants and businesses.

The silent auction runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and are for creative baskets donated by KSD classes, local businesses and the KSD community. A live auction runs from 9:15 – 11 a.m. for items including two tickets to UK’s first basketball game against Tennessee State.
