DBCHS, Pets of the week November 21

Published 6:21 am Wednesday, November 21, 2018

Our featured pets this week are Clarice and Dixie.

Clarice is a gorgeous tortoiseshell kitty that was born last May. She has been at the humane society since the end of June. Clarice was too young for adoption at that time, but now she is six months old and this pretty girl has been without a loving family for way too long. Clarice is quiet and calm and gets along with the other kitties. Can you give this precious girl the forever home that she so badly needs and deserves?

Dixie is a sweet and loving young adult Pit Bull mix. She was a stray and her owner has not been found so she is now ready for adoption. Dixie has beautiful big brown eyes and her whole body wiggles with excitement when she greets visitors. Dixie has plenty of energy and would make a great jogging buddy and an all around great companion if you choose her for adoption!

We’re looking forward to a great turnout for our Fifth Annual Pints for Pets Pup Crawl fundraiser this Saturday in downtown Danville. Even if you have not pre- registered, you can still join the fun by signing up at the West T. Hill Theater 117 Larimer Lane, beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The cost is $20/$30 and we will have cool t-shirts available on a first come first serve basis and registration will earn you discount on food items at our venues and you can win some great door prizes.

In this week of Thanksgiving, we’d like to thank to all the wonderful people in the community who support the work of the DBCHS. We could never accomplish all that we do without the help of our wonderful volunteers. They assist at our adoption center at PetSmart. They work tirelessly at our Happy Paws Spay/Neuter Clinic. Volunteers run the Mutts With Manners training program. They also put in many hours each week at the humane society to help the dogs and cats feel loved and cared for while they wait for their forever homes.

We are thankful for our skilled local veterinarians who provide medical services and adoption surgeries. We thank our very generous donors who support our mission with monetary gifts and donations of needed supplies. And we thank our adopters who open their hearts and their homes to the precious animals. We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
