Mr. June T. Christy

1927-2018

Mr. June T. Christy transitioned from labor to reward on November 29, 2018 in Danville, Kentucky. Mr. Christy was proceeded in transition by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. June D. Christy. Mr. Christy was a long time resident of Danville, Kentucky where he resided until the time of his passing.

He is survived by a daughter, Gwen R. Buffington, Atlanta, Georgia; sons, Charles K. Daugherty and Mark E. Daugherty (Sunae Han) Danville, Kentucky; grandson, Clarence S. Houston, Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughters, Gina Y. Daugherty and Catherine R. Daugherty Clarkson, both of Lexington, Kentucky; great grandsons, Nigel Thomas Houston Atlanta, Georgia, Eric S. Higgins III, Lexington, Kentucky, Clarence J. Daugherty Danville, Kentucky; granddaughters, Dominique R. Higgins Lexington, Kentucky and Niemah Morales, Danville, Kentucky; three nieces; one nephew; host cousins; three generations of dear grand nieces and nephews.

Mr. Christy had a lifetime of service to God, church, family and community. He exemplified this passion serving as Master of Doric Lodge #18, Danville, Kentucky, achieving heights within the Grand Lodge, P. H. A. Jurisdiction of Kentucky becoming the first of five granted status of Honorary Grand Master, Jurisdiction of Kentucky. He is the last of the five to be called from labor to reward. He was elevated to 33 degree in New Orleans, Louisiana in the early 1980’s, granting him the privilege of serving Supreme Council. He was also a member of other houses at local, regional and state levels.

Visitation: Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 6-9 p.m. at First Baptist Church Second & Walnut Streets, Danville, Kentucky with Masonic rites starting promptly at 7:30 p.m. Celebration of Life services at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2018. Interment Camp Nelson National Cemetery Nicholasville, Kentucky.
