Burgin students get books from sponsors
All students in kindergarten and first and second grades at Burgin Independent School recently received their first monthly book from Scholastic. They are grinning from ear to ear as they sit on the school’s brand new gym floor with their brand new books. Every one of these children were sponsored by members and businesses within the community so that they would be able to receive one book every month until the end of the school year. Reading is crucial to success in school, and the school wants to help each child develop a love of learning from an early age. The school thanks everyone that helped make this dream possible. If anyone is interested in sponsoring an additional child or donating money for the students next year, please contact Tabitha Renner or Carrie Jackson at Burgin School — (859) 748-5282.
