Register so you can vote in 2019 primary

I want to thank all who voted on Nov. 6 and to encourage anyone who is not yet registered to do so BEFORE NEXT APRIL 22. The deadline for those CHANGING THEIR PARTY AND wishing to vote in next year’s May Primary is Dec. 31.

Just a month ago, our community experienced an extraordinary election. Voter turnout was high, yet we always hope for even greater numbers to assure that your thoughts are taken into account at the polls.

Remarkably, four of those contests combined — including Danville and Boyle County races — were determined by less than 80 total votes among thousands of votes cast!

Our future as residents in terms of taxes and vital governmental services here in Danville and Boyle County is at stake. Your one vote can make a difference in determining the direction local and state officials go in acting on your behalf.

In a nutshell, all that we see and gain in our region will be largely influenced by the actions and decisions of our Danville City Council & Boyle County Fiscal Court.

And looking ahead less than a year from now, your influence as a voter will enter into races for our Kentucky Governor and other statewide constitutional offices.

Please act now. Either go online to govotekentucky.com, or visit our Boyle County Clerk’s Office, downtown in the courthouse, to pick up and complete a voter registration card. The deadline for those wishing the opportunity change their party affiliation and to vote in next year’s May Primary (2019) is the end of December. New registrations can be made.

May your Christmas Season be a Blessed one and we wish you a Happy New Year.
